An account belongs to one organisation

Fixed
  • A single sign-in could hold a seat in more than one organisation and switch between them. That was never intended — an account is one person at one institute — and it meant two unrelated organisations' data sat behind one login.
  • Accepting an invitation now checks it: if the account already belongs somewhere, or already owns its own workspace, the invitation is declined with a reason. Join with a separate account instead.
  • Nobody loses an organisation they were already using — existing memberships are untouched.

Questions are single or multiple choice, and that's the whole list

Improved
  • The question editor used to offer a “format tag” — Scenario or Odd one out — alongside the real choice of single or multiple answer. It changed nothing: not the marking, not what a candidate saw, not the result. It's gone.
  • The CSV importer took those two words in its “type” column too, which made it look as though there were four kinds of question. The template and the importer now accept single and multi only.
  • You can still write a question as a scenario or an odd-one-out — that's how you word it, and it never needed a setting.

The size you asked for is checked before a pool is offered to you

Improved
  • When we answer a pool request with a pool we already have, the difficulty and the minimum number of questions in your brief are now checked first. A pool that doesn't have that many questions at that difficulty can no longer be handed over.
  • The numbers you give when you raise a request are doing real work now, rather than being read as advice — fewer pools arriving short and coming back for a second round.

Attempts held for review are counted as their own thing

Fixed
  • Analytics and the takers list disagreed about how many people sat an assessment — one counted attempts awaiting a proctoring review, the other didn't, and neither said so. Both now show “In review” as its own number, so takers plus in-review is everyone who sat it.
  • A flagged attempt that FAILED is no longer held for review. Review is there to stop an illegitimate pass; a failing score isn't one anyone gains by cheating for, so the candidate gets their result straight away and reviewers get a shorter queue.

Tell us how big a pool you need

Improved
  • A pool request now asks for the smallest number of questions that would work, and roughly how many candidates will sit assessments drawn from it — alongside the difficulty it already asked for.
  • Both are optional, and both are editable after you've sent the brief. They save a round trip: we no longer have to come back and ask how big you wanted it.

Adding an assessment to a cohort asks when it runs

Improved
  • Attaching an assessment used to open it to the whole intake the moment you pressed Add, which is why “Invite” felt pointless — they could already sit it. Adding now asks for the window first, and leaving the dates blank is a normal save.
  • Inviting the group now means what it says: telling them.
  • A cohort's details tab shows its programme, dates and status as information with one Edit link, instead of four form fields and a Save button on a page you mostly come to read.

An assessment you've finished stops following you around

Improved
  • Once you've used your attempts, the assessment leaves your browse list and your invitations instead of sitting there with a Start button on it.
  • An assessment now allows one attempt unless the institute sets more — previously “unset” meant unlimited, which is why finished assessments never went away.
  • You can decline an invitation you're not going to take. The institute sees that you declined rather than the invitation quietly going stale.
  • Dropped the “Private” tag from assessment cards — every assessment is private, so it wasn't telling anyone anything.

Invited candidates can actually start the assessment

Fixed
  • A candidate invited to an assessment, or enrolled on one through a cohort, could open it from their dashboard but got “Invalid or missing access token” when they pressed Start. They can now start it from anywhere they can see it.
  • Assessments still can't be started by anyone who wasn't invited, enrolled, or given the link.

Preview as candidate shows your assessment page

Fixed
  • “Preview as candidate” failed with a message about authoring questions for any workspace whose questions come from a pool we build. It works for everyone now.
  • It shows your assessment exactly as an applicant meets it — your description, what it judges, what they need before they begin, and the enrolment panel with duration, questions and pass mark. Nothing starts an attempt, and no questions are shown.

Forms open over the page, and pools are called pools

Improved
  • “Request a pool”, the CSV importer, and adding a link or pull request to your profile now open in a dialog instead of pushing the rest of the page down.
  • One word for one thing: what used to be called a question bank in some places and a question pool in others is a question pool everywhere.

You always get a say on a pool we deliver

Fixed
  • If we answered your request with a pool you already had from an earlier request, the request got stuck on “in progress” and you were never asked to accept it, reject it or send it back. It now reaches you as a delivery every time.
  • A request you send back for changes can be revised and delivered to you again — that round trip previously had no way to complete.
  • Your request page now names the pool you were given and how many questions are in it, instead of making you open it to find out.

Analytics, rebuilt around one question per page

New·Major release
  • Analytics is now one place with tabs — Results, Difficulty, Topics, Participation, Question quality and Compare — instead of three separate screens that each showed a bit of everything.
  • Pick an assessment and a group once, at the top, and every tab narrows to it. Choose “All groups” to widen back out. The charts stay the same; only who they cover changes.
  • New Difficulty tab: what students got right at each level, and — for the first time — how much of the hard material they never answered at all. Running out of time and not knowing the answer are different problems.
  • Terms like reliability and “separates” now explain themselves: hover the question mark next to any of them.
  • Group and assessment numbers now agree. A proctoring-flagged attempt awaiting review was counted on one screen and not the other; it now counts on neither until it's reviewed, so some totals may read slightly lower than before.

Analytics that lead with the finding

Improved
  • All three analytics screens now open on the answer — the headline numbers and one chart — instead of every chart at once.
  • The detail is still one click away, and each collapsed row says what it holds: “Hardest: Recursion — 61% wrong”, “20 questions · 2 flagged”. You can read the page without opening anything.
  • Sections are easier to tell apart, and on Compare groups the picker folds away once you have a result so the comparison gets the space.
  • Fixed the pass-mark label on the score chart, which was unreadable when it fell over a tall bar.

Creating a programme works when you're in more than one workspace

Fixed
  • Accepting a team invitation from another company no longer blocks you from creating programmes, intakes, or assessments in your own workspace.
  • Anything you create is now filed in the workspace the switcher is on — switch to a client's workspace and the new programme lands there, not on your own account.

Analytics for one group, and every student in a section

New·Major release
  • “Group analytics” is a new screen: pick one intake or section and see how it did on one assessment — who sat it, how the scores spread, and what caught them out. It no longer forces you into a comparison to ask about a single group.
  • Compare groups has been rebuilt around the difference itself — paired bars on one scale, a topic chart sorted by the widest gap, and the finding stated as a sentence before any chart.
  • Every student now sits in exactly one section. Existing cohorts get an “All students” section automatically; nobody is moved between cohorts.
  • Inviting a group opens a dialog first, where you can set when the assessment opens, the last time to start, and when everything must be submitted.

Sortable tables, a pool request page, and an off switch

Improved
  • Question pools, pool requests and programmes are now tables you can sort and filter, not lists you scroll.
  • Every pool request gets its own page with tabs for the brief, the conversation and the delivery — and you can revise the brief after sending it, adding files or changing the description. We're told the moment you do.
  • An assessment can be closed to new attempts and reopened later, without archiving it or losing a single result. Its page is now tabbed, so sharing and invites aren't stacked under the description.
  • Sample questions show the correct answer, and a programme's sponsorship has its own tab explaining exactly how it combines with an intake's own figure.

Your workspace shows your work — and analytics you can read

Improved·Major release
  • Assessments, programmes, intakes and analytics now show only the workspace you're in. If you hold a seat at more than one institute, the other one's material no longer turns up in your lists.
  • Analytics has been rebuilt around a story: who sat it, how the scores spread, how hard it turned out, and which topics caught people out. The score distribution chart works now — every bar used to render the same height.
  • Your dashboard leads with the intakes you're running instead of a hiring pipeline.
  • Assessments built on a pool we supply now get the full retake policy — one attempt, a set number, or unlimited, with an optional wait between tries.

Programme tabs switch properly

Fixed
  • A programme's “Assessments” and “Cohorts & intakes” tabs did nothing when clicked — both sections rendered at once, stacked down one long page.
  • They now show one section at a time, so the intake list is no longer buried under the assessment list.

Talk to us about a question pool, and accept it when it's right

New·Major release
  • Every pool request now has a conversation attached — ask us anything the brief didn't cover, and we'll ask you. Both sides get a notification when the other writes.
  • A delivered pool is an offer, not a fait accompli: accept it, or send it back saying what needs changing.
  • New pool analytics show how much of a pool you've actually used, how your students score on it, and which assessments it backs. Pools we build for you stay sealed — the per-question results aren't shown, because they'd give the questions away.
  • Sponsorship moved up to the programme, so you set once what share of your students' credits you cover; any single intake can still override it.
  • Every table sorts by any column, and the admin screens have been reorganised so each page answers one question at a time.

A tidier product, and one price for every assessment

  • Navigation is regrouped so every heading says what's inside it, and creating a programme or cohort is now a button in the top right rather than a form you scroll past.
  • Assessments cost a standard number of credits set by Skillatory — organisations no longer price their own — and every assessment is private, reached through the organisation running it.
  • Candidates browsing assessments now see exactly what their institute has put them on, rather than a general catalogue.
  • Programmes and cohorts get tabbed workspaces, students can be added in bulk by pasting a list or uploading a CSV, and the roster shows people's names once they've signed up.

Invigilation set by Skillatory, and every cohort in a programme

Improved
  • Exam invigilation — webcam, screen recording, room scan, ID check — is now set by Skillatory rather than by each organisation, so a certificate means the same thing wherever it was earned.
  • Organisations no longer see those switches on the assessment form; if you need a different level of invigilation for your exams, talk to us and we'll set it for your account.
  • Every cohort now belongs to a programme. Cohorts created before programmes existed have been filed under a "General" programme you can rename or move them out of.
  • Cohort comparisons stay inside a programme, so you're never shown a gap between two groups that never sat the same course.

Compare groups, and see whether the difference is real

  • Put two cohorts or sections side by side on the same assessment: overlaid score distributions, means, spread, pass rates, and how big the gap actually is.
  • If the two groups didn't sit the same questions, we say so — whether the pool changed, questions were edited, or the same pool simply dealt a different hand.
  • Analytics now reads at any level: organisation, programme, cohort or section.
  • Flagged attempts awaiting proctoring review no longer count towards results until a reviewer settles them, so figures may shift slightly.

Schedule an assessment for a cohort

New
  • Set when a cohort's assessment opens, the last moment a student may start, and when work is due — starting late no longer means losing your time limit.
  • Choose how much of the cost you cover for the group, from nothing to all of it; it's applied when you invite them.
  • Leave any of it blank and nothing changes — assessments without a schedule behave exactly as before.

Students enrol, instead of being handed a link

New·Major release
  • Give your class a join code and students enrol themselves — into the cohort, or straight into a section.
  • Invitations now enrol too: accepting one adds the student to the cohort, so you don't add the same people twice.
  • An assessment you run for a cohort is now only reachable by that cohort. Sharing the link no longer lets anyone else sit it. Public assessments are unchanged.
  • Students get a Courses page showing every group they're in and its status.

Programmes and sections

New
  • Group your cohorts under a programme — the track you run more than once. The programme holds the assessments it uses; each intake picks the ones it actually sits.
  • Cohorts now carry start and end dates and a status, so an intake that's finished stops looking like one that's running.
  • Split an intake into sections if you want to compare groups later. Sections are optional — keep everyone together and nothing changes.
  • Cohorts have moved out of Hire and into Assess, next to Programmes where they belong.

Question pools built for you

New·Major release
  • You no longer need to write your own questions. Send us a brief and your material, and we'll build the question pool for you.
  • Track each request from sent to delivered, and see coverage on every pool you receive — how many questions, at what difficulty, on which topics — plus a fixed set of sample questions.
  • Build an assessment on a pool in one step: pick the pool, the difficulty and the length, and we'll assemble the right mix. Choose a fresh set of questions for every candidate, or the same set for everyone.
  • Pool questions stay sealed. Nobody at your organisation can read them, so candidates can't prepare against the answers.

Hiring is now switched on per organisation

Improved
  • Talent search, job openings and the hiring pipeline are now enabled per organisation by Skillatory, rather than being on for everyone.
  • Organisations without hiring no longer see any of it — the sections are hidden rather than shown and refused.
  • Nothing is deleted when hiring is switched off: existing openings and shortlists come back exactly as they were if it's switched on again.

Fixes to names, navigation and the desk check

Fixed
  • Renaming yourself in Settings now sticks — your Skillatory profile name was being overwritten by the name you signed up with on every page load.
  • Opening a candidate from the review queue now returns you to Review instead of dropping you in Talent Search.
  • Turned off the pre-assessment desk-position check: it reported the same result no matter where the laptop actually was, so it gave reviewers false assurance.

Ceremonial certificate designs

New
  • Three new certificate designs in the traditional idiom: an ornate filigree border, an engraved seal, a laurel wreath, and the recipient's name set in formal script.
  • Added a course-credential layout with a ribbon and seal down the edge, for certificates that need to read as a formal qualification.
  • Decorative borders, seals and wreaths can now be dropped into any design and recoloured to match your palette.

Design your own certificates

New·Major release
  • Certificates are now designed in Skillatory: pick one of ten ready-made designs, then move anything, retype anything, and drop in logos and signatures where you want them.
  • Text placeholders fill themselves in — candidate name, assessment, score, date, credential ID — and resize automatically so a very long name or title never overflows or gets clipped.
  • Room for three sets of marks: your organisation, Skillatory, and a sponsor. Anything with nothing behind it is left off cleanly instead of printing an empty line.
  • Companies can upload a signature and name a signatory under Settings, so certificates carry a real signature rather than a typed name.

Cohorts you can reuse for any assessment

New
  • A cohort is now just a named group of students — build it once, then invite the whole group to any assessment, whenever you need to.
  • Previously a cohort was locked to the single assessment you picked when creating it, so running a second one meant rebuilding the group from scratch.
  • New group view shows how a cohort is doing across every assessment it has sat, alongside the existing per-assessment breakdown.
  • Practice-test results can now be compared between cohorts and candidates who aren't in one.

Assessment publishing now needs Skillatory approval

  • Organisations are approved by Skillatory before they can build assessments or question banks — a separate approval covers publishing to the public catalogue.
  • Public assessments continue to be reviewed one by one before they reach the catalogue.
  • If your organisation is waiting on approval, everything you've already built is kept exactly as it is and comes straight back the moment you're approved.

Practice tests can match the real test's difficulty

  • A practice test used to pick questions completely at random, so one candidate could get mostly easy questions and another mostly hard ones.
  • You can now have it mirror the difficulty mix of the real assessment, or set your own mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced.
  • This makes the starting point it measures far more comparable between candidates.

Question banks

  • Organise your questions into named banks — upload a CSV as its own bank, tag it with the skills it covers, and filter within one bank or across your whole library.
  • Questions can now carry several skills, and the CSV format takes an optional skills column. Leave it blank and questions inherit the bank's default skills.
  • Build an assessment by rule instead of by hand: ask for "15 intermediate AI questions from this bank" and each candidate gets a fresh draw when they start.
  • Mix and match — draw some skills from one bank and the rest from your whole library, alongside any questions you've written yourself.

Exams are now assessments

  • One name everywhere: what used to be called an "exam" in some places and an "assessment" in others is now consistently an assessment.
  • Pages moved from /exams to /assessments. Old links, invite emails, and certificate links redirect automatically — nothing you've already shared will break.

A faster, less fussy start to a proctored assessment

  • The room sweep no longer has to be re-recorded — it captures your surroundings and moves on, instead of telling honest candidates it couldn't confirm a full turn.
  • Removed the four-corner screen calibration step. Gaze monitoring now settles itself during the exam, so there's one less gate before you begin.

Delete your account and export your data

Checkboxes and dropdowns you can actually see

  • Unticked checkboxes, unselected radio buttons, and dropdown fields were rendering without their outline — effectively invisible until clicked.
  • Most noticeable when answering a multiple-answer exam question or setting up filters.

A reusable question bank

  • Build a library of questions once and reuse them everywhere.
  • Organize by category, skill, and tags, and search your whole bank.
  • Drop questions into any exam in a couple of clicks instead of rewriting them.
  • Questions added to an exam are a snapshot, so editing your bank never changes a test someone has already taken.

Exam analytics that show what's working

  • A rebuilt analytics view shows how each exam — and each question — is really performing.
  • See score distributions, pass rates, and how reliable the exam is overall.
  • Per-question: difficulty, how well it separates strong from weak candidates, and which answer options people actually choose.
  • Weak or mis-keyed questions are flagged for you, and an invitation funnel tracks people from invited to completed.

Filter your submissions, and a tidier profile

AI integrity risk score for proctored exams

  • When a proctored attempt raises any integrity signal, Skillatory reads all the evidence together — camera and screen activity, the room scan, and what was heard.
